The problem we kept running into
Every time we launched a new side project, the first thing we wanted to know was: are people actually using it? Click maps, scroll depth, session replays — you need them on day one.
But the popular tools charge $99–$400 a month before you have a single paying customer. And they ship your users' raw interaction data — mouse trails, keystrokes, page paths — to their servers. That always felt wrong.
So we built our own. One weekend project that turned into something we kept using, kept improving, and eventually decided to open up.

What we stand for
Self-hosted first
Your users' data should live on your servers. We built DID so you never have to trust a third party with your visitors' behaviour.
Privacy by design
No third-party CDN, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting. GDPR compliance isn't an afterthought — it's the default.
Developer-first
One script tag. A < 5 KB async tracker. No bloated SDK, no NPM install required. If it can't ship in an afternoon, we rethink it.
Generous free tier
Product insights shouldn't be locked behind a $300/mo paywall. The free plan is real, unlimited on events, and stays free forever.
How we got here
Side project started — tired of paying $99/mo for Hotjar on a side project with 200 visitors.
Open-sourced the tracker SDK. 200 GitHub stars in the first week.
Session recording shipped. First 500 users signed up without any marketing.
Admin panel, onboarding wizard, and Pro plan launched.
Building in public. Pricing, Growth, and Business tiers coming soon.
Try it yourself — free, forever
No credit card. No usage limits on the free plan. Just install the script and see what your users actually do.
